Unreleased music from Pop Smoke will feature on the soundtrack for the upcoming film ‘Boogie’, which is due to be released on 5th March 2021 by Focus Features.

The film, directed by Eddie Huang, follows the story of a high-school student, Alfred “Boogie” Chin, and his dreams of becoming a basketball star. In his posthumous acting debut, Pop Smoke will take on the role of Chin’s basketball rival, Monk.

A documentary has been released about Digga D.

Produced for BBC iPlayer, a new documentary following 20-year-old drill MC Digga D, who was released from prison this year, is now available to watch online.

Digga D, real name Rhys Herbert, was arrested in 2019 for violent disorder, and spent 15 months in jail before his release in May. The documentary, titled Defending Digga D, follows the MC after his release, when he is sent to a approved accomodation in Norwich — 100 miles from his hometown of London.

The nominees have been announced for this year's MOBO Awards. 

This year’s MOBO ceremony, hosted by presenter Maya Jama and Youtube star Chunkz, is set to take place on the 9th December, and will be streamed in full via Youtube, marking the first ever digital MOBOs.

Details have been revealed about a new drama series focusing on UK rap, grime and drill.

Set to broadcast in 200 countries and territories via Amazon Prime, Jungle is original series set in inner-city London that will feature some of the country's top grime, drill and UK rap talent. Produced by Nothing Lost and comprising six 30-minute episodes, the show's release date and cast are yet to be announced.

Digga D has released a statement telling fans that police have stopped him speaking about Black Lives Matter.

The UK drill MC, who is currently on probation, posted a picture on Twitter yesterday (14th) explaining that police have advised that he can't speak about the BLM movement because it promotes violence.

"I can't speak about BLM anymore because apparently it's promoting violence," the MC wrote. "Police and probation had a problem with me taking a picture holding a sign saying Black Lives Matter."
