Leeds' Mint Club to close after 20 years
Canal Mills is being forced to close due to property development, with the final session set to take place on New Year's Day 2019.

Alan Fitzpatrick, Bicep, DJ Hype, Artwork and Todd Terje are amongst those appearing in the final autumn-winter run, with Hot Chip's Alexis Taylor playing a Prince set on 1st December with disco legend Nicky Siano also on the bill.

Back in September, Geordie DJ Patrick Topping teamed up with MiNT to take on infamous Leeds pub crawl, the Otley Run — or as he calls it, the Topply Run!
Hitting the road in a VW campervan with a crate of beer, a cheeky smile and a set of CDJs, Topping played four secret locations, including a fancy dress shop, a barber's and an inflatable igloo, before arriving at Mint Club for his final show.
The run took place during Freshers Week, so as you can imagine, things get a tad boozy! Check out the trip via the video below.
Leeds clubbers will have a new place to worship as of 30th September, with the launch of new venue, Church.
As we reported back in July's issue of DJ Mag, Church is new project of Back To Basics founder, Dave Beer, former New Order bassist and Factory Records and Haçienda owner, Peter Hook, and Aaron Mellor, the brains behind Digital Newcastle.
Leeds-based KMAH Radio was burgled earlier in August. The station, which boasts hosts like Happa and Bill Brewster, Lo Shea and Futureboogie, Nick Craddock and Cottam, had two brand new CDJ 2000s, a brand new DJM 700, Alto studio mixer and Samsung monitor all taken late one night.

Come the end of September, even the most robust, diehard ravers reluctantly accept that the UK festival season has finally run its course. Up North though, they’ve got a different agenda going on; earlier this month DJ Mag headed to Mint Festival — a two-day extravaganza dedicated to showcasing a deluge of heavyweight electronic music artists amidst the picturesque grounds of Weatherby Racecourse near Leeds.
Here are ten of the best tracks we heard over the weekend. More information on Mint Festival here.
