808 Whisky is a new Scotch whisky that takes its name from the legendary Roland TR-808, an homage to the fact that both dance music and alcohol bring people together.
"It's a sociable drink that inspires conversation. Like the best dance music it has warmth, bottom end, and a definite KICK, the sub-bass of drinks. 8O8 is whisky but not as you know it. It's whisky remixed!" said founder and veteran DJ/producer DJ TommyD.
Roland has just release a software version of its D-70 synthesizer.
The digital version features 64 synth patches, sampled from the original model, and is only available for subscribers of the Roland Cloud service, Anthology 1990.
First released in 1990, the D-70 was pioneering in its ability to combine sample playback with digital synthesis and on-board effects. It was the follow-up to 1987's D-50, one of Roland's most famous and popular instruments, which is already available in a digital version on Roland Cloud.

Roland has added the Jupiter-8 and Juno-106 as software options on the Roland Cloud subscription service.
The tech giant rolled the software synth service out last year, which gives producers access to a variety of app versions of their classic synths.
The two ‘80s synths added join Roland’s AIRA System-1, SH-101, System-100, Promars and SH-2.
Roland are currently offering a one month free trial of the Roland Cloud service.

Roland has just launched a new keyboard designed to make the music making process just that tad easier.
Roland’s GO:KEYS comes with an innovative Loop Mix function meaning users can build fully produced songs from the get go (excuse the pun), without having any previous music experience.
Producers can trigger loop phrases from the keyboard, constructing songs in real time with drums, bass, and various other musical instruments and elements.
Roland's classic Juno-106 synthesizer is now available to play in your browser window.
Built by developer Steven Goldberg, the unofficial soft synth emulator includes all the features of the 1984 original (including the waveforms, chorus and LFO), and actually doesn't do a bad job of recreating the rich analogue sound either.
Users can play the 106.JS via their computer keyboard, or if using Google Chrome, plug in a MIDI device to control it.
Roland have revealed details for their new Aerophone AE-10, a “digital wind instrument” that allows users to play saxophone, clarinet, flute, oboe, trumpet, violin and synths.
The tech giant’s latest innovation uses a breath sensor in order to react like an acoustic horn, with users able to play the digital emulations through either the Aerophone AE-10’s built-in speaker, a stereo mini jack that connects to an external source, or a USB connection that allows it to link to external MIDI modules or software synths.
