Phonox nightclub in Brixton has joined forces with LGBT charity Kaleidoscope Trust to host a fundraising club-night in light of the recent tragedy in Orlando.
Mr. Ties, the main resident and creative force behind one of Berlin’s most revered gay parties Homopatik, will spin at the much-loved club on Friday 22nd July, with 50% of ticket sales donated to the 35 activist organisations the Kaleidoscope Trust supports.
Lithuanian producer and DJ Ten Walls (real name: Marijus Adomaitis) was widely condemned for his backward and bigoted stance on homosexuality, after an explosive rant via his personal Facebook page surfaced back in June.
The abhorrent remarks, that labeled homosexuals as “another breed” and compared homosexuality to child abuse, were quickly deleted, but not before LGBT publication Gay Star News broke the story, sending the disgusting quotes viral.

Trade was launched by Laurence Malice on 29th October 1990. The Sunday afterhours, advertised as “the original all-night bender”, ran from 3am to 1pm at Islington venue Turnmills.
In the past few years London’s LGBT community has lost a string of famous venues, so it’s great to hear that one of the capital’s oldest and most-loved gay pubs, the Royal Vauxhall Tavern (RVT), has been designated a listed building.
The RVT was awarded Grade II status on Wednesday, giving it considerable protection against any changes to use or look, following a campaign supported by Sir Ian McKellen, Paul O’Grady and Graham Norton.
