Premiere: Kiwi ‘Daubenten's Bat’
Disco Halal’s latest offering comes from London-based DJ/producer Alex Warren. ‘Mountains of Dew’, set for release on 12” vinyl this Friday 13th April, is the producer’s ode to his childhood spent living in the Scottish Highlands, his formative years spent in clubs in Edinburgh and Glasgow and the idea of “Cha deoch-slàint, i gun a tràghadh” or “It’s no health if the glass is not emptied”.

EROL ALKAN LAUNCHES ROLLING SPOTIFY PLAYLIST TO HONOUR CLUBNIGHT TRASH: LISTEN
Erol Alkan has compiled an ongoing Spotify playlist of classic tunes from much-loved London clubnight Trash, the party he was resident DJ at from '97 to 2007.
The playlist includes tracks from Brian Eno, Sisters of Mercy, LCD Soundsystem and many more — the music has been compiled by Erol this time round, but will hopefully see selections from fellow Trash residents Rory Phillips and The Lovely Jonjo as its updated.
THESE ARE THE TUNES OF 2016
Thank god for Shazam, eh? Gone are the days of hearing a killer tune and painstakingly searching for it. Singing a hook to a bemused-looking bloke in a flat-cap in your local record store, or rudely interrupting a DJ during a crucial moment and causing him to clang a mix.
And this year more than ever, clubbers all over were spotted on dancefloors eagerly holding their phones up — like professional ramblers checking the direction of the wind — to find out what tune was playing at that particular moment.

LISTEN TO KIWI’S RASPING NEW TRACK ‘CORMORANT’
We’ve got the exclusive first play of Kiwi’s new track ‘Cormorant’, which is taken from Correspondant’s Compilation 4.
Label owner Jennifer Cardini has assembled an all-star cast of artists for the fourth compilation from the label including Man Power, Red Axes, Javi Redondo, Axel Bowman and Borusiade.
Having released tracks for the likes of Duke Dumont’s Blasé Boys Club and Jack Savidge’s Deep Shit, Kiwi’s rise to the top has been unstoppable during the last couple of years.
KIWI'S RISE TO SUCCESS
Making it as a successful DJ is a tough gig. It takes commitment, passion and most of all, persistence. No one knows this better than London-based DJ/producer Kiwi (aka Alex Warren), he's gone from booth sideliner to international selector in just two short years.
It's thanks to his dogged determination that he's managed to break away from the pack, coupled with a knack for crafting cuts that have usurped many of his more experienced contemporaries.
