Inner City and Idris Elba have collaborated with youth-led organisation, Detroit Will Breathe, for a powerful new music video, ‘We All Move Together’.
Directed by Kurt Schneider, the video was filmed in Detroit with hundreds of members of D.W.B - a collective born in the heat of the resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement this summer.
With some footage filmed during a protest, the video aims to promote unity by shedding a light on the work the organisation does to fight against police brutality and systemic racism in the city.
Inner City have released their first new album in 30 years.
The Detroit trio, made up of Kevin Saunderson, Dantiez Saunderson and vocalist Steffanie Christi’an, today revealed their new 12-track LP, 'We All Move Together'.
Recorded over 18 months of studio sessions between touring, a press release states that the album's title "means more now than ever" and that "‘We All Move Together’ represents the uplifting love and connection that music brings to Kevin Saunderson’s life, the Inner City group, and the rest of the world."
Kevin Saunderson and Idris Elba have been working on new Inner City music together, according to a new Facebook post.
Saunderson published a photo of the pair collaborating, writing: 'In the Studio with Idris Elba, a melting pot of UK and Detroit sounds! An amazing experience, stay tuned for the new Inner City Material'.
A GoFundMe has been launched in aid of Inner City’s Paris Grey following a devastating family tragedy.
Detroit techno legend Kevin Saunderson and Grammy-winning producer Dennis White — AKA Latroit — are asking dance music fans to give money to help the acclaimed singer following the loss of her daughter to cancer.
Inner City, the act founded by Kevin Saunderson, will tour Europe as part of a 30th anniversary tour. It’s the first time Inner City have played outside American in 20 years.
With former singer Paris Grey no longer touring, Kevin Saunderson is now joined by his son Dantiez and guests including singer Steffanie Christi’an. After debuting this line-up at Movement in Detroit in May 2018, its touches down in Amsterdam at Shelter on April 19th to begin an 18-date tour that takes in Lost Village, Three Mills and Movin festivals.
Kevin Saunderson has confirmed details of his first album as E-Dancer in two decades.
Titled ‘Infused’, the album follows on from Saunderson’s revisiting two years ago of his classic E-Dancer album ‘Heavenly’. The new 10-track album sees Saunderson team up with Lithuanian producer Virus J.
The album is more of a downtempo affair than past E-Dancer works, and sees Saunderson and his collaborator making use of live instrumentation including strings.
The album is out now via KMS, and can be streamed in full via the embed below.
Our 60 Second Synth Sounds series shows you how to re-create some of dance music's most iconic riffs, and this time we've taken on Inner City's 1989 classic 'Good Life'. Although the orignal was a sample from a synth, we show you how to make it from scratch on any standard subtractive synth.
Dance music is a hot place to be place right now. What began as an underground counter-culture has grown, over the last 25 years, into a sound that dominates not only global dancefloors, but international festivals and pop charts alike.
But it wasn’t always like this…
In this new series, in association with Miller Genuine Draft, we lay bare the dance music story, to show the raft of new ‘EDM’ fans where these sounds and ideas first came from.
