Unsound has shared the first program announcement for this year's festival.
Holly Herndon has launched a new ‘digital twin’ version of herself called Holly+. The new virtual alternative is built using machine learning and AI and can sing any song or melody uploaded to the Holly+ website in Holly’s voice. Anyone can upload any audio file and the AI instrument – made in conjunction Never Before Heard Sounds – will attempt to recreate it based on thousands of hours of machine learning.
ACCA Digital will curate a series of events as part of this year's Brighton Digital Festival next month.
Set to take place at the Attenborough Centre of the Creative Arts in Brighton, the programme will cover music performances, installations and workshops. Among the musical highlights, Holly Herndon will present her album, 'PROTO' with an expanded musical line-up and vocalists.
Picture this... It’s 2030, and the DJ Mag Top 100 has just been topped, for the first time ever, by an artist created with artificial intelligence. The furore is palpable. The DJ community and scene at large are up in arms.
With Barcelona festival Sónar's 2019 edition now only a couple of weeks away, organisers have confirmed plans for an immersive, 3D dome which will host a number of audiovisual premieres through the weekend.
Electronic luminaries Holly Herndon and Jlin have created a new track ‘Godmother’, out now on 4AD, completely via an AI program called Spawn.
Spawn was created over the course of two years by Herndon and Mat Dryhurst. Producing the track entirely via machine learning, Spawn repeatedly listened to recent DJ Mag interviewee Jlin’s work and tried to replicate it with Herndon’s voice.
Jlin has dropped a new track 'No Name', her first music since last year's dance performance original score, 'Autobiography'.
The experimental innovator, who is collaborating with Holly Herndon on creating a music-oriented artificial intelligence, shared the track via Adult Swim's 'Singles' programme.
