Independent London club The Cause has revealed a potential new location.

Launched in 2018, the Tottenham venue, which originally had a year-long contract and was due to close in April 2019, extended their contract until the beginning of 2020 with New Years Eve serving as the closing party.

The Cause have now announced that a new space has been found, and although not "set in stone", the founders hope the space could be the home of The Cause moving forward. The venue will be in use for the New Years parties, with events taking place across the new space, and The Cause's original home.

Stuart Glen, co-founder of The Cause said: “Since we opened, we were always hunting for our next site. For a variety of reasons, quite simply none of them have been perfect. However we knew when we stepped inside here, that we could re-create the magic we’re known for IF we can win over the powers that be.

We have a lot of battles, and quite simply, if we don’t win these, our dreams here will never evolve. As such we’ve seized the opportunity and are extending our last dance in our current space into the first dance of what may or may not be our new home. This will be a triple celebration for the club as we also welcome a new decade with a monstrously big NYE show."

Initially opening with the aim of raising £25,000 for charity partners Mind in Haringey, C.A.L.M. and Help Musicians UK, the venue surpassed their target and had raised over £50,000 by August this year.

Tickets for the New Years events are on sale now.

The venue also houses Threads Radio, a London-based DIY station from the team behind 199radio, and previously Kristina Records prior to their East London relocation. Threads have now launched a crowdfunding campaign to continue broadcasting when The Cause vacate their current premises.
