GLASTONBURY WILL CHANGE ITS NAME WHEN IT MOVES IN 2019, SAYS MICHAEL EAVIS

It will be renamed The Variety Bazaar...

Glastonbury will change its name in 2019 when it temporarily moves to a new location, festival organiser Michael Eavis has confirmed.

He revealed the festival's new name during an interview with Paul Cannon of Glastonbury FM, saying, "The Variety Bazaar. It's a good name, don't you think?"

Eavis also went on to add, "But presented by The Glastonbury Festival Team; The Glastonbury Festival Team presents... the Variety Bazaar."

He also said the move, which has been organised to protect the festival's Worthy Farm site from erosion, was a "huge risk," before adding, "I've been a huge risk taker all my life - I mean, 47 years of huge risks really and so far, touch wood, I haven't come unstuck. This might be one risk too far, I don't know."

Emily Eavis also confirmed news of the move and name change in a tweet shortly after the interview — you can read that below.

The festival's 2017 dates have already been locked for 21st to 25th June, with Radiohead confirmed for this year's event.
