Behringer has announced that, from next year, it will sell the RD-909, its clone of Roland's TR-909 drum machine, the back bone of Detroit techno, for less $299.

Company founder Uli Behringer made the announcement in a post on the popular Gearslutz forum. Building on the design on the original, the RD-909’s modifications will include drive and pitch control for the kick drum, pitch control over the hi-hats, an analogue filter and wave designer, and parameter locking on the 64-step sequencer.

Behringer announced in October that it would be selling a clone of Sequential Circuits' Pro-One synthesiser for the same price.  

Earlier in the year the company also unveiled its Rhythm Designer RD-808 drum machine, an emulation of Roland’s TR-808. Watch it in action here.
