Punks Music Warehouse Selection sampler EP

Punks Music
As if the Stanton Warriors hadn't done enough for breakbeat over the past two decades, their Punks imprint has breathed new life back into a scene that had begun to get pretty lost around the turn of the decade. The essence of the new broken-beat programme is an emphasis on ruthlessly underground soundscapes rather than the "hands in the air" party vibe of mid-noughties breaks. On this sampler EP for the forthcoming 'Punks Music Warehouse Selection' compilation, the 808-fuelled future vistas of Bristolian trio Sly One's 'Check Me Out' hustle for room on the dancefloor with the hard-edged diva vox-led breakbeat-rave of Urbani's 'Push It Up' and the jackhammer bass riddim of Zander's 'Bang With Us'. The heavy sound of syncopation continues its renaissance in the grubby mitts of a whole new generation of producers.
